In November 2014 we spent a 4 week vacation in Australia. The first couple of days we visited Rianne’s family in Canberra. It was great to see them and was a good way to get over our jet lag. After visiting Canberra we explored several places around Melbourne by car, such as Wilson’s promontory The last 2 weeks we spent in Tropical Queensland around Cairns, where we visited the Daintree, Atherton Tablelands and Mission beach area. It was the first time to be traveling with our daughter Fieke and it turned out to work great. Luckily Australia is a great country to explore with children as it’s safe and easy to get around. For naturelovers, as we are, there is plenty to see and do with a unique flora and fauna. The only real down-sides are that it’s an expensive country and that since it’s so big, places are far between. So expect to be a lot of hours on the road. |
