| Vienna is an impressive city showing a lot of Austrian history. By just walking around the centre you find several prominent buildings. On Stephansplatz you find the gothic Stephansdom, not far away from the famous Wiener Oper. A lot of musea can be found in the museum quarter and only the outside of those buildings gives you the feeling you're back in Mozart times. In western Vienna the Schönbrunnis Castle is located. This summer residence of the Habsburger family is an enormous palace and shows you the life of Elisabeth, better known as Sisi, who married emperor Frans Jozef. Both Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart had performences in this palace. Apart from the historic elements Vienna is a good place for sweetteeth. You can find the real Sacher Torte at Sacher. |
